However for 6 February 2012 insyd, dem split off de northeast part of de district wey dem create de new Akuapim South District, wey Aburi be ein capital town; dat be say dem rename de remaining part as Nsawam Adoagyire Municipal District, wey Nsawam be ein capital town. De district assembly dey de southeast part of Eastern Region wey Aburi be ein capital town.
