History
editNa dem establish Dire Dawa University insyd 2006 plus enrollment of 754 students for three facilities insyd: (Faculty of Natural Science den Mathematics, Faculty of Social Science den language den Faculty of Business den Economics) for 13 different undergraduate academic programs insyd plus 90 teachers den 103 administrative support staff wey dey operate plus limited facilities. For 2008 insyd, dem merge affiliate campus of Haramaya University to Dire Dawa University make e construct more buildings den workshops.[3]
For 2017/2018, DDU establish one Institute of Technology den Five Colleges (College of Natural & Computational Science, College of Business & Economics, College of Social Sciences & Humanities, College of Law den College of Medicine den Health Science) wey dey contain 33 different academic programs. Dem increase enrollment go 12,500 insyd 39 academic programs; 7,971 of wey learn eveningti, weekend den summer for different programs insyd. Dire Dawa Institute of Technology be one of ten institutes insyd Ethiopia wey be responsible for industry-led economic transition. Dey prioritize science den technology, DDU implement national policy of 70:30 (Engineering & Natural Science to Social Sciences). As of 2018, de varsity get 1,177 academic staffs; na 834 dey for duty whereas na 343 dey for full study insyd make dem leave second den third degree.[3]
