Dem san reelect am for 7 January 2017 after de 2016 Ghanaian General Elections wey he get 52.97% of de valid votes cast.

He job as de Deputy Brong Ahafo Regional Minister from 2009 come 2013.[2] For de 7th parliament for de 4th republic of Ghana he serve on top of Food, Agriculture den Cocoa Affairs Committee as dema ranking Member.[1] He san serve for de Privileges Committee den Appointments Committee for de same parliament.[1]

Opoku receive award as de best member of parliament for communal den rural development for 2017 from de Bureau of Research on Governance, Commerce den Administration (BORGCA). Dis award dem take give am for ein contribution to developmental projects for de Asunafo South Constituency.[3]
