Na ebe say ego expand access give tertiary education for Nigerians. For effective take off of de universities, dem constitute sam Implementation Committee wey dey includes de National Universities Commission (NUC), de Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) den oda relevant stakeholders. De Committee hold consultations plus governors of de states for de new universities wey dem inspect de proposed sites before dem submit demma report for 15 November 2010 insyd. Na de implementation of de committee ein report dey for phases insyd. De implementation of de first phase start plus de establishment of nine Universities, for February 2011 insyd. De implementation of de second phase dey involve de establishment of three Universities wey dey include de FUGashua for February 2013 insyd. For 18 February 2013 insyd, dem appoint Professor Shehu Abdul Rahaman as Vice-Chancellor, den Sulu Dauda, Registrar (pioneers). For June 2015, FUGashua matriculate ein 240 pioneer students.[4] Three years after de maiden matriculation, de student population grow significantly, wey for February 2018 insyd, 990 students matriculate.[5]
