George William Kyeyune
Professor George William Kyeyune (born 1962) be an artist den professor for de Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda.[1][2] He dey lecture insyd sculpture den history of African art at de College of Engineering, Design, and Technology – Makerere University, plus research interest insyd contemporary art den metal casting technology.[2] He sanso be de vicar of de Namirembe Cathedral of de Church of Uganda.[3]

Early life
editNa dem born Prof. George Kyeyune insyd 1962 into a traditional Ugandan family for Masaka, Kyanamukaka Subcounty insyd central Uganda.[1] For early age, he start dey depict signs of an artist by he dey draw pictures dey use de ground as ein canvas. Dis later translate into a career insyd art (painting den sculpture).[1]
Education
editProf. George Kyeyune be a product of de then Margaret Trowell School of Fine Arts (now Margaret Trowell School of Industrial and Fine Arts), wer he graduate plus a Bachelor of Fine Art insyd 1985.[1] Wey later he obtain a Diploma insyd Education de year wey dey follow. Prof. George Kyeyune obtain a Master of Fine Arts Degree from de Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India plus speciality insyd Sculpture.[1] Insyd 1999, Prof. George Kyeyune receive a scholarship from de Commonwealth Scholarship Commission make he study for ein PhD insyd Art History at de School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.[1][4]
Career
editProf. George Kyeyune return from India wey he take up a teaching position insyd sculpture for ein former school.[1] He currently be an associate professor for de College of Engineering, Design, and Technology – Makerere University.[2] He sanso dey do sculpture den painting for exhibitions.[5] Sam of ein works dey include: The Kampala I Will Always Come Back To (2011); At the Salon (2011); Gossip I & II (2011); Telephone Call (2011); Roadside Vendor (2011); Boodaboda I, II & III (2011); En Route from Mbale (1983) den Jesus Writing in the Sand (1983) among odas.[6]
