Ghana Youth Environmental Movement
Ghana Youth Environmental Movement (GYEM) be national environmental group for Ghana wey de youth for Ghana dey lead. Ebe group of young activists wey Gideon Commey dey lead wey dey empower young people make dem engage for sustainable environment plus help address climate issues wey dey affect de community as dem dey do advocacy campaign den community activities.[1][2][3]

For de middle of 2018 plus 2019, na GYEM initiate Power shift, summit wey go convene young people make dem discuss pressing issues wey dey relate to waste management, sanitation, plastic pollution, climate change den renewable energy. GYEM play role for de campaign wey dem do against de introduction of coal-fired power plants for Ghana insyd wey na dem sanso lead de anti-coal campaign for 2016 insyd.[4]
Initiatives
editFor October 2020 insyd, na GYEM set up water kiosk project wey dem bell am Kyensu kiosk. Na dema goal be say make dem provide low-income community for de Ga West Municipal District portable drinking water. Na de community get big challenge for clean drinking access insyd.[5][6]
Campaigns
editFor 2018 insyd, na de movement hold a Power Shift Environmental Summit make dem use mark World Environment Day 2018 for Accra insyd. De event convene young people plus stakeholders make dem initiate discussions plus take action for plastic pollution issues wey dey Ghana insyd.[7] For March 2019 insyd, na de group sana lead youth groups den civic society organizations for campaign wey dey demand African governments make dem take action against climate change.[8][9]
