Mustaffah (First Ghanaian Neurosurgeon), plus whom he share honours plus insyd Mathematics den Additional Mathematics.[5] Addy graduate from de Accra Academy insyd 1950, den insyd 1951, he enroll for de University College of the Gold Coast (now de University of Ghana).[4] Der, he study from 1951 to 1954 wey he proceed go Queen's University, Belfast.[4][6][7] For Queen's University, Addy study from 1954 til 1959 wen he qualify as a trained physician.[4][6][7] Insyd 1964, he enter de Institute of Child Health for a one-year diploma program.[4][6][7] Insyd 1965, he obtain a Diploma insyd Child Health.[4][6][7] From January 1967 to July 1967, Addy study for de London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, England, wey na dem award am a Diploma insyd Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.[4][6][7] He later pursue a one-year programme for de University of California, Los Angeles, from 1973 to 1974.[7][8]

Career

Two years after he graduate from Queen's University, Belfast, Addy join de Korle-Bu Hospital staff as a medical officer.[7][8][9][10][11] He work for de hospital til 1964 wen he lef for de United Kingdom for further studies for de Institute of Child Health.[6][8] From 1970 to 1973, he work as a senior medical officer for de Princess Marie Louise Hospital insyd Accra.[7][8] He lef for further studies once again for de University of California, Los Angeles from 1973 to 1974, den upon ein return, he gain employment for de Nutrition Division of de Ministry of Health as a senior medical officer.[8] Insyd April 1976, na dem elevate am to de position of a principal medical officer.[8]

Later insyd 1976, na dem appoint Addy senior lecturer of de School of Medical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (then de University of Science and Technology, Kumasi) as a founding academic staff of de school,[12] den insyd 1982, na dem appoint am associate professor den head of de department of Community Health, School of Medical Sciences.[13][14][15] Addy later join de University for Development Studies as a founding academic staff of de university ein Medical School wey he go on make he serve as de first Dean of de Medical School.[16]

Na he be a member of de Ghana Medical Association, a Fellow of de West African College of Physicians,[17] a member of de International Union of Nutritional Sciences,[17] den a member of de Protein-Energy Malnutrition Committee.[18] Na he be a commonwealth visiting professor of Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, from 1986 to 1987 den insyd 1990, den a senior fellow for de Fester Pearson Institute, Dalhousie University, Halifax from 1986 to 1987 den insyd 1990.[17][19] Na he be a visiting fellow of de Caribbean Epidemiology Centre, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, den a consultant for UNICEF from 1989 to 1990. Na he be a member of Council of de Ghana Medical Association insyd 1990, a member of de National Planning Committee of de School of Medical Sciences, University Science and Technology, Kumasi from 1977 to 1980.
