Kisii University be public university wey dey locate insyd Kisii.[1] Na dem found am insyd 1965 as primary teachers’ training college for 61-acre land top wey dem donate by de County Council of Gusii. De college continue up to 1983 wen na dem upgrade go secondary teachers’ college make e offer Diploma programmes.

De Government of Kenya mandate de university make e take over de college as ein campus insyd 1994.[2] Na Kisii Campus be one of de earliest campuses make dem create am insyd Kenya by de then Head of State, H.E. Daniel arap Moi. Insyd 1999, de Faculty of Commerce establish Bachelor of Business den Management as ein first degree programmes within de campus make e run alongside postgraduate Diploma insyd Education, wich na dem phase out insyd 2001.[2]

For 23 August 2007, na dem establish Kisii University College thru Government Legal Notice No.163 of 2007 as constituent college of Egerton University.[2] For 6 February 2013, na dem award charter make e cam turn de 13th public university insyd Kenya.[2]

De university main campus dey situate 2 km from Kisii Town Centre, off the Kisii – Kilgoris Road.[2]
