Dem formerly kno de institution as Lagos State College of Science and Technology (LACOSTECH) wey later dem change go Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH).^[1]

History

De Lagos State University of Science and Technology (formerly dem know am as Lagos State Polytechnic) na dem establish am plus de promulgation of Lagos State Edict No. 1 of 1978 plus retroactive effect from June 1, 1977. De Institution commence classes insyd January, 1978 for temporary site (now de Isolo Campus) plus five Departments namely, Accountancy, Business administration, Banking den finance, Marketing den Insurance.

For 1 August 1978, dem merge de School of Agriculture insyd Ikorodu plus de Institution wey e cam turn de nucleus of de present–day permanent site for Ikorodu. Insyd 1986, de Lagos State Government change de name of de Institution from Lagos State College of Science and technology, (LACOSTECH) to Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH). Na dem convert de institution into university of Science and Technology sequel to de signing of fresh bill into law by de Governor of Lagos State Mr. Olusola Babajide Sanwo-Olu for Wednesday, 2nd February, 2022.

For Tuesday, 8 February 2022, de Executive Secretary of de National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Abubakar Adamu-Rasheed mni,mfr, officially present de certificate of de University to de Governor of Lagos State Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for de NUC Secretariat Abuja.
