History

Na dem found Laikipia University insyd 1929 as primary school by William Thomas Alfred Levet.[1][2] Between 1965 den 1970, de institution serve as Large–Scale Farmers Training College (LSFTC).[3] Na dem administer LSFTC by de Ministry of Agriculture den Animal Husbandry. Insyd October 1979, na dem convert am into Animal Husbandry den Industry Training Institute (AHITI) wey dey offer two-year course wey dey lead to Certificate insyd Animal Health. Insyd 1990, na dem establish Laikipia University as Campus of Egerton University.[4]

Dis follow de recommendations of Government Committee dem appoint make dem look into modalities of make dem dey absorb double intake of students from Secondary Schools. Na dem mean make dem offer Education courses for graduate teacher-training.[5]

E remain campus of Egerton University between 1990 til 2010 wey dey major in BEd Arts den BA courses. Insyd 2011, e cam turn constituent University College of Egerton University til 19 February 2013 wen de then Presido of de Republic of Kenya, his Excellency Hon. Mwai Kibaki award Charter make dem make de institution fully-fledged University.[6][7]

De Main Campus get numerous facilities wey dey range from classrooms, laboratories, library, cyber cafe, bookshop, sports & games facilities, hostels for student accommodation, health centre, restaurant, farm den Lake Chacha, among odas.
