Dem born Leonce Raphael Agbodjelou insyd Porto-Novo insyd 1965. He be de son of Benin photographer Joseph Moise Agbodjelou (1912–2000). He no get formal education wey ein poppie wey train am. Na dem travel together plus portable studio. Na dem use a traditional colorful fabrics as a background for de people portraits wey dem make. Leonce Agbodjelou found de first Photography School insyd Benin.[1] He dey serve as de Presido of de Photographer's Association of Porto-Novo.[2]

Agbodjelou ein portraiture series, Citizens of Porto-Novo dey depict people of Benin ein capital. He dey use a daylight studio den a medium format film camera for de project. Ein 'Musclemen' shows stage studio photograph of muscular men, wich be popular theme insyd West Africa.[3] De 'Egungun' project ve photographs of de masqueraders, wey dey depict divine ancestors of Yoruba-speaking people. Dem usually dey appear at funerals make dem guide deceased to de spirit world. They san fi appear at any time make dem protect people from misfortunes.[4]
