De college then rename as de Regional Maritime Academy (RMA). De formal inauguration of de RMA happen for 26 May 1983 insyd, plus Ghana as sam founding member.[1]
De regionalization of de academy be for cooperation, particularly with regard give de training of personnel so say ego ensure de sustained growth den development of maritime industries for de sub-region den beyond. De academy for Ghana dey serve de Anglophone countries, while sam sister academy for Ivory Coast (L'Académie Régionale des Sciences et Techniques de la Mer – ARSTM) dey serve de Francophone countries.[1]
