To ein north be de Wassa Amenfi East District, to ein south be de Ahanta West District, to ein West be de Nzema East Municipal den to ein East be de Mpohor Wassa East. De municipality get total land area of 2,354 km2.[1]

De Tarkwa glass factory, wey dem start am by Ghana ein first presido, Kwame Nkrumah as we dey talk, de factory no dey work buh edey de district insyd. De Tarkwa Gold Mine too dey some four kilometers west for de town of Tarkwa.[2] De district san get de region ein only public university - de George Grant University of Mines and Technology.[3]
