University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD-Ghana) be sam new University dem establish Trom-Somanya wey dey Yilo Krobo Municipality for de Eastern Region of Ghana.[1] De Government of Ghana (GoG) establish de institution through de Ministry of Education so say equitable "access give all" go dey give menners wey dey Ghana. Na de institution be collaborative project between Ghana den de Italian Government.[2]

De Eastern University, one of President Mahama ein promises for 2012 electioneering tym, go get two campuses, plus de main campus for Somanya den de oda one for Donkorkrom wey dey Afram Plains insyd.

For April 2013 insyd, President Mahama inaugurate 12-member committee say make dem develop de roadmap for de establishment of de university, wey go tackle de critical environmental den sustainable development challenges of de country. Dem follow dis one plus de establishment of implementation committee.

President John Dramani Mahama, for December 2016 insyd, cut sod give de construction of de university. President Mahama talk say Parliament approve £45-million commercial agreement between de government den Contracta, sam construction firm wey dey Italy, for de development den construction of de university, wey he add say de construction go start without any wahala.[3]

  • Say ego specialise for de conduct of research knowledge dissemination for sciences, agro-business den de built environment.[4][5]

De Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, set up interim council members give de institution. Dem dey include Professor Jonathan N. Ayertey as de chairman plus oda members like: Professor Eric Nyarko as de VC, Mrs. Efua Easaba Agyire Tettey, Professor John Blay, Ing. Johannes Twumasi Mensah, den Mrs. Gina Odartefio. Professor Eric Nyarko be de interim Vice Chancellor, Mrs. Mary A. Agyepong dey work as de Registrar, wey Mr. Barfour Awuah Kwabi be in charge of de Finance office.[4]

Currently, UESD dey offer degree programmes for environmental studies, climate change, urban development, Water Resources Development, Energy Sustainability, Energy Economics, den Agriculture.[6]

"The University go get four undergraduate Schools – de School of Natural den Environmental Sciences, de School of Sustainable Development, de School of Agriculture den Agriculture Entrepreneurship, den de School of de Built Environment."[6]
