editDe university start by sam Act of Parliament (Act 828),[2] wey receive presidential approval for December 2011 insyd. However, e start dey admit students for 2012. De university be devoted to teaching, research, den service for Health Sciences insyd.[3][4][5]
Dem form de university plus Interim University Council wey dey govern de affairs of de school, wey Prof. Kofi Anyidoho, MA (Bloomington), PhD (Austin) dey chair am. De Foundation Vice-Chancellor be Professor Fred Newton Binka, MBChB (Legon), MPH (Jerusalem), PhD (Basel) wey serve from March 2012 go July 2016. For August 2017 insyd, dem inaugurate new council plus Justice Jones Victor Mawulorm Dotse as de chairmo. Oda members of de council be Professor John Owusu Gyapong (Vice-Chancellor, UHAS); Professor Victor Gadzekpo (Member), Dr. Sylvia Ayeley Deganus (Member), Dr. Nana Owusu-Afari (Member), Mr. Richard K. editProfessor Lydia Aziato[8] be de current Vice-Chancellor of de University of Health and Allied Sciences.[9] For sam special meeting dem do for June 3, 2022 insyd, de Governing Council of de University of Health and Allied Sciences[10] approve de appointment of Prof. Aziato as de new Vice-Chancellor.[11] Effective August 1, 2022, Prof. Aziato assume de prestigious position,[12] wey she cam turn de first woman den nurse wey hold de role of Vice-Chancellor for de history of de University insyd.[13]
