Dem born Hayford on 29 October 1973 wey she dey hail from Akwapim-Akropong insyd de Eastern Region for Ghana. She get ein Bachelor degree insyd Political Science den Linguistics insyd 2012. She further get ein LLB. insyd Criminal Law; International Human Rights Law den Administrative Law insyd 2018.[3]

Na Ophelia be Assistant superintendent of Police(ASP). She be chief Inspector plus de Ghana Police Service. Ophelia Hayford san work plus de Interpol Unit at de CID Headquarters. Ophelia join de Ghana Police insyd 1993 as a recruit. Den since den, she serve for de service insyd for 27 years.[4]

Politics

Hayford be member of de New Patriotic Party. Ein late husband, Ekow Hayford na she be Member of parliament for Mfantsiman Constituency. After de ein husband die while he dey serve insyd office, she decide say she go replace am as de Member of parliament for de Mfantsiman Constituency.[1] As Assistant Superintendent insyd de Ghana Police Service, she tender ein resignation as require by de 1992 Constitution so say ego enable ein contest de elections.[5][6]

2020 elections

Insyd December 2020, dem elect am member of Parliament for Mfantsiman Constituency after she go compete insyd de 2020 Ghanaian General Election under de ticket for de New Patriotic Party den win.[7] She poll 36,091 votes wey edey rep 51.83% for de total votes cast. Dem elect am over James Essuon for de National Democratic Congress den Alijatu Ibrahim of de Ghana Union Movement. Dese obtain 32,379 den 911 votes respectively out of de total valid votes cast. Dese be equivalent to 46.76%, den 1.31% respectively for de total valid votes cast.[2][8][9]

Hayford be de Vice chairperson for de Defense den Interior Committee den she san be member of de House Committee.[3]

Personal life

She be de wifey of de late Ekow Hayford.[10] She get two kiddies. She be Christian.[11]
